Marathon Pics!

THE START...
The bridge literally shook underneath us as we ran over it... kind of like running on a trampoline, very weird and unnerving. Felt a little nauseated, not gonna lie

The first two miles looked like this, perhaps this is why I could only run an average of 9:37 mile during the first 5K...

THE RACE...
My pace group, somewhere in Brooklyn before we got seperated.

Look at those hot quad muscles! (somewhere along 1st ave, I think)

Perky at Mile 18!

Still perky at 23! (hair is also perky/out of control)

THE FINISH!!!! And the crowd goes wild!

Good thing I'm wearing a bright day-glo neon shirt, otherwise you might miss me. Fun Fact: They announced my name as I was crossing the finish... yeah, I'm that important. Basically they only announce the winners, Lance (of course), and yours truly. (that's what i'm telling myself at least)

Still standing after the finish!

I heart mylar blankets. I kind of want mylar bed sheets, is that weird? Although the crunching sound might keep me up...

After about an hour of searching for them in the hoardes that had invaded Central Park, me and the Fam at the finish. Jon looks a little disgruntled, I think he was jealous of my mylar blanket.

ahhh... now that's what i'm talking about.

Mileage so far...

Since I decided to run the marathon and began recording my distance (June 10th, 2006), I have run 452 miles (give or take a mile)

At an average pace of 9 min/mile, that's 4,068 minutes of running, or 2 days, 19 hours and 48 minutes.

I could have run home to Wayne and back to New York twice, and be somewhere in the Jers on my way back to Wayne.

With an approximate run tonight of 5 miles and the 26.2 on Sunday, the grand total will be...
483.2!

According to AstrologyZone.com...

"November promises to be your happiest, most sensational month of the year! You'll wonder why you've been singled out to be so fortunate, but no need to wonder - just accept it and enjoy it!... Even if you choose not to take a trip abroad, a quick, fun weekend jaunt seems likely anyway on November 5."

I don't know how "quick" my mararthon will be, but hopefully it will be fun!

PS- a co-worker sent me the link, I swear I don't check AstrologyZone.com regularly!

best run EVER

Poland Spring Marathon Week Kickoff 5 Mile Run...
aka Team for Kids Run in Costume.

Omar, as a Team for Kids Elvis, and I as a 70's TFK runner looked pretty sharp before the race. I think the short shorts look should stay in the 70's, although I was kind of digging the sweat bands, not gonna lie.

Haven't done a top ten in a while, so here are the top ten costumes:

10.
Coach Adam as iPod Commercial guy (funnier when he was dancing)

9.
the cutest fairy! (not sure how she ran with that!)

8.
Team for Kids Cheerleaders, they get extra points for the pyramid!

7.
Coach Lance with a pretty sweet ride

6.
Team "Fireass" as Team Fireass (the front of the shirts say "Fire Department) and yes, those are orange, yellow, and red streamers coming out of their booties

4 and 5.
TFK Pimp and the Convict (in that order). No explanation necessary.

3.
All the superheros (from left to right, the flash, wonderwoman, superman, wonderwoman #2, and spiderwoman in front)... Gotta say Matt as Superman was my favorite, but I may be biased as he is my faithful pace group leader.

2.
Coach Danielle as a TFK Green Crayola Crayon. Brilliant!

1.
Just kidding. Coach Deena as Wonderwoman was my favorite superhero AND #1 on the list.
